My name is Kristin Colonies and while I’m the English Department Chair for grades 6-12, I’m also the director of MMS Voyagers, the 5-to-6th grade transition summer program. I’m reaching out to ask a favor.
We still have spots available in our morning session (August 10–14, 8:00–10:00 AM), and I’d love your help getting the word out to your rising 6th grade families.
MMS Voyagers is designed to help students develop confidence as they as they make this big transition. It is staffed entirely by MMS teachers and counselors, and it gives students a real feel for the building as well as strategies to help them navigate all that middle school will ask of them. The focus is on the organizational habits, growth mindset, and self-advocacy skills that serve kids well throughout middle school, not just on day one.
